I Am Legend IMAX audiences will be treated to the first glimpse of the upcoming Batman movie, The Dark Knight. Warner Bros Pictures will screen the six-minute opening prologue of the film in IMAX 2D immediately before I Am Legend begins. The opening sequence features the introduction of Heath Ledger as The Joker.
Chris Nolan, and co. talk about filming next summer’s blockbuster, “The Dark Knight”.
According to the press release issued by Warner Bros, the release of this opening sequence in IMAX theaters will be world premiere of the first footage shot with “extremely high resolution IMAX® cameras.”
Writer/director/producer Christopher Nolan was quoted as saying, “I’ve always found the IMAX format to be completely astounding in terms of the crispness and clarity of the image and sound, as well as the sheer size and scope. I knew that if you could shoot scenes of a feature film in that format—not just blow up a 35mm film to fit those screens but actually to shoot with IMAX cameras—you could achieve an incredibly immersive experience. No one had ever done it before, but with a lot of careful preparation by our director of photography, Wally Pfister, and the help of the IMAX technicians, the results are beyond our expectations. When you watch the finished product, it’s like being on an amazing roller coaster. It’s literally larger than life.”

The bootlegged version of the trailer has been popping in and out of YouTube all day today as users upload it as fast as the WB remove it. There are rumblings afoot that this short film is incredible, indeed, even better than the entire I Am Legend feature.
In the last hour or so a new Dark Knight viral website has been unveiled, “A taste for the theatrical”, www.atasteforthetheatrical.com. It reads,
“Sunday - It’s what you have been waiting for! Sure, you can see it on display, but beginning this Sunday, you can take it home for your very own“
So, you now have a choice, either be patient and wait until Sunday to see a high quality downloadable version or hop onto the buzz train right now and view the bootlegged copy on YouTube…

Well, today is a day for fabulous Dark Knight imagery, and here we have two more posters for you to wrap yourself around. The first comes in the same vein as the International Dark Knight Teaser Poster featuring Batman, though this time we have a great, and incredibly teasing, shot of The Joker. The second poster shows us The Joker’s gnarly grin through a steamed up panel emblazoned with the words “Why So Serious?”, we’ll be looking out for a high resolution version of this in the next few days.
