Considering the strong viral marketing campaign The Dark Knight has had so far, it’s not surprising that the new movie poster wouldn’t just be handed to us.

Instead, it was hidden within the viral site Why So Serious? at this page (click the red lever at top right of the page). Below the defiled portraits, it says “Three days”; when the poster was uncovered yesterday, that notice said “Four days,” most likely referring to the unveiling of the theatrical trailer, which premiered at the New York Comic Con last weekend.

OPERATION SLIPKNOT

Gotham Police Major Crimes Unit, in cooperation with the GPD Internal Affairs Division, needs you to help track down numerous offenders that are fugitives from justice. Interestingly, we’ve tracked all of these individuals to the same last known location: Gotham Intercontinental Hotel. But we don’t know where they’ve gone from there.

Call the hotel and convince the concierge to ship you a certain package that’s been sent there for each fugitive. Use the provided intel and whatever means you can to convince him that you’re the intended recipient, your travel plans have changed, and he needs to send the package to you. Once received, you should have all you need to fill in the blanks as to that fugitive’s location.

We will add details about additional fugitives as they become available. Time is of the essence, as we have only a short time before the trail runs cold. Your cooperation in this operation will go a long way. Good luck.

DC Comics, Warner Premiere, Warner Home Video and Warner Bros. Animation today released the official trailer for Batman: Gotham Knight, the eagerly awaited third release in the DC Universe series of PG-13 rated animated features based on characters from the pages of DC Comics. The title is slated to arrive on DVD and Blu-ray, as well as VOD on July 8.

For Batman: Gotham Knight, DC and Warner Bros. Animation teamed with leading Japanese anime creators to weave six interlocking stories that chronicle Bruce Wayne’s journey as Bob Kane’s legendary Dark Knight. The production was divided among Studio 4ºC, Production I.G and Madhouse, and overseen by visionary directors Shojiro Nishimi (Tekkonkinkreet animation director), Futoshi Higashide (Jaianto robo: Animeshon animator), Hiroshi Morioka (Tsubasa Chronicle), Yasuhiro Aoki (The Animatrix animator) and Toshiyuki Kubooka (Fushigi no umi no Nadia animation director). Individual stories were written by Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Josh Olson (A History of Violence), David S. Goyer (Batman Begins), Emmy winner Alan Burnett (Batman: The Animated Series), Jordan Goldberg (associate producer of the upcoming live-action film The Dark Knight), and award-winning comic-book writers Greg Rucka and Brian Azzarello.

In the movie, several different versions of Batman will take on such villains as Scarecrow, Killer Croc and the marksman known as Deadshot. The film is produced by Emma Thomas (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight), Michael Uslan and Benjamin Melniker (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight), Toshi Hiruma and Bruce Timm (Batman: The Animated Series).

HEATH Ledger was reportedly told to seek professional help for his personal problems while filming The Dark Knight.
The late Australian actor - who tragically died from an accidental prescription drugs overdose in January - was reportedly warned he had become too obsessed with his portrayal of iconic Batman villain The Joker in the upcoming blockbuster.

A source told FOX News: “Heath refused to talk to anyone out of character.

“If you tried to communicate with him normally instead of The Joker, he would just ignore you.

“He would often come to the set to hang out even on his days off, freaking everyone out. Towards the end of filming, he was warned by people that he had gone too far, but it was almost like he couldn’t connect with those who cared for him anymore.”

Ledger reportedly locked himself in an apartment for an entire month before playing The Joker, who he described as a “psychotic, mass-murdering clown”.

Ledger also admitted he had such trouble sleeping while shooting the film he resorted to taking the prescription drug Ambien.

Sources on the set of The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus - the movie Ledger was filming when he died - also claimed the actor could not “snap out” of character and seemed to have “lost sense” of who he was.

Friends, my entire campaign I’ve talked about how this campaign is a struggle for this city’s soul. On the one hand, there are those people who prey on the innocent citizens of Gotham. On the other hand, there is our movement to take back Gotham from crime and corruption.

At Rossi’s Deli, we saw that struggle play out. Play out inside the head of the hostage taker, Sgt. Frank Notaro. Some are calling him a “crazed smear cop” but he encapsulates the choice facing us. Do we continue to allow our worst nature to lead us? Or do we take a chance on hope?

That’s the choice I laid out to Frank Notaro. And he responded. He released an innocent, terrified girl. He turned himself in. And he is now talking to the police about mob involvement in the smear campaign against me.

That’s the real lesson of the incident. We must, all of us, have the courage to hope. If we have the power to change ourselves, if we have the power to change one person, then we have the power to change Gotham.
