But today was a little better for us Batman Fans.

Rumor #1: Twitter world exploded with pictures of what is rumored to be the interior of the Batcave. So i give you  Salina Turda, a salt mine situated in Turda, Transylvania, Romania… oops i mean the batcave.

Rumor #2: Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Robin? It’s a rumor that started on twitter as far as I know, and to be honest i don’t really buy it, but like i said slow day….  From what i seen so far with Bane bloqing up arkham and the escapees running free, i’m pretty sure the movie will be more based on the Knightfall story arc…. Where Bane broke the “bat”. During the time that Bruce Wayne was healing, Jean-Paul Valley took is place as Batman… then wouldnt give the job back….

While that trailer floored us with its showcasing of Catwoman as a playable character and Batman flying throughout Gotham City and taking down foes, we didn’t think we would see any more footage for quite a while. We were wrong.

It looks like Rocksteady was more than willing to show the attendees of WCG 2011 an extended portion of the game and someone was able to capture the demo on camera. This exciting video highlights a number of Batman’s new abilities, including smashing through walls, his new smoke bomb, and a leg-choke from above. The in-game dialog is hard to hear and you have to deal with PR manager Dax Ginn’s overacting, but you won’t see this stuff anywhere else. At least not yet.

Batman: Year One — otherwise known simply as Year One — is a 1987 comic book story arc written by Frank Miller and illustrated by David Mazzucchelli. The story finds a young Bruce Wayne who has spent his adolescence and early adulthood traveling the world so he could hone his body and mind into the perfect fighting and investigative machine. But now as he returns to Gotham City, he must find a way to focus his passion and bring justice to his city.

Retracing Batman’s first attempts to fight injustice as a costumed vigilante, we watch as he chooses a guise of a giant bat, creates an early bond with a young Lieutenant James Gordon, inadvertently plays a role in the birth of Catwoman, and helps to bring down a corrupt political system that infests Gotham.

Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston will voice Jim Gordon, while Ben McKenzie is Bruce Wayne/Batman. Dollhouse’s Eliza Dushku will play Catwoman, and fan-favorite actress Katie Sackhoff will voice Detective Sarah Essen, a love interest to Gordon. Alex Rocco has also been announced to be playing crime lord Carmine Falcone.

Bruce Timm previously confirmed that a Catwoman short would be attached to the feature. Batman: Year One is directed by Lauren Montgomery and Sam Liu and scribed by Tab Murphy. The animated film will be rated PG-13 and is due out in this fall but will make it’s world premiere at the San Diego Comic-Con in July.

He’s the Ethan Hunt of directors, so whenever there’s a leaked photo or video we’re like moths to a flame. Some amateur footage has surfaced from The Dark Knight Rises that features Anne Hathaway and Christian Bale, who look mighty comfortable together.


The scene takes place on a rainy day, which it really isn’t judging from the T-shirt wearing crew members on the street. From the looks of it, Selina Kyle and Bruce Wayne are on a joint mission. Bruce knocks on the door of a house but gets no answer, so Selina walks up and whisks him away.

We might be over-romanticizing the scene just a tad, but Selina does grab his hand. We’re not sure who’s supposed to be behind that door or why Bruce wants to talk to them, because we’re more interested in the dynamic between him and Selina.

Are these two going to have a full-on relationship in the movie or are they going to kill us with two hours of “will-they-or-won’t-they sexual tension? Either way, 2012 can’t get here fast enough!

The Dark Knight Rises opens in theaters on July 20, 2012.

The vehicle was desined by Gordon Murray who designs race cars. Here is a description from of the vehicle:

Murray designed the Formula One cars that won six world championships, then he went on to create the incredible McLaren F1 supercar for the road. So when he was given the task of creating the latest Batmobile, he came up with a design that projects Formula One design elements as they might exist in 15-20 years, including what he calls “breathable” carbon fiber.

“Batman Live will use stunts, acrobatic acts and illusions to entertain the audience. Batman and Robin will battle several villains including The Joker, The Riddler, Catwoman, Poison Ivy, The Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn,” said the latinoreview.com website.

Here is the show’s synopsis: “Faithfully adapted from the DC Comics characters and stories, Batman Live focuses on Robin’s quest for justice, which leads him to follow in the footsteps of his hero, the mysterious vigilante known as the Batman – much to the dismay of his protective guardian, millionaire Bruce Wayne – who secretly happens to be Batman.

“The dynamic triangle resolves itself in a non-stop thrill-ride across Gotham City that transforms Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson into the legendary crime-fighters Batman and Robin and transports the audience form the Big Top of Haly’s Circus to the lower depths of Arkham Asylum – from the glittering peaks of the Penguin’s Iceberg Lounge to the subterranean wonders that await inside the Batcave, which features a revolutionary, all-new Batmobile designed exclusively for Batman Live.”

The story was written by Allan Heinberg, Stan Berkowitz and Alan Burnett, and the tour production will open in Manchester, United Kingdom, on July 19 this summer and then will tour throughout the United Kingdom and Europe. It plans to arrive in North America by the summer of 2012.

DC Comics, a subsidiary of the studio, has filed a copyright and trademark lawsuit against a man who builds custom-made “Batmobiles.”

Mark Towles operates a business called “Gotham Garage” and now stands accused of distributing merchandise that infringes what a new lawsuit says is the “high-tech extraordinary automobile identified as the BATMOBILE vehicle.”

DC Comics is telling a California District Court that the sale of imitation Batmobiles is likely to confuse the public into believing that the cars are authorized products. It wants a permanent injunction, the destruction of infringing goods, and statutory damages of no less than $750,000 per infringement.

If the Batman owners really intend to get serious on policing “Batmobiles,” they’ve got a lot of work on their hands. Just in the past month, Batmobiles popped up, among other places, at Utah State University, in New York’s East Village, at a Ralph Lauren exhibit in Paris, and was also used as the getaway car during a Pennsylvania robbery. Meanwhile, the Batmobile will soon be hitting the live stage in a world-wide theatrical tour and the car’s original creator (now 85) is criticizing imitations such as the car used in Green Hornet as just not as cool.

According to the latest lawsuit, the Batman franchise has made at least $1 billion in merchandise revenue since the first film came out in 1989. Batman first appeared in a 1939 issue of “Detective Comics.”
